Victorian Butterfly Cloche

Create your very own medieval butterfly cloche without all the hassle of looking and hunting down these beautiful butterflies. All you need is a midsized glass dome with an open cover. Use a sharp knife to cut one inch thickness Styrofoam into a 5 inch diameter circle. Pull black fabric over the Styrofoam until the whole thing is tight and put in under the glass dome. Buy a whole bunch of fake colorful butterflies (you will find plenty of them at throwaway prices in flea stores) and stick them to the inner surface of the glass dome with strong glue. Give it a few minutes to dry and then you can place your freshly made butterfly cloche as the highlight of your living room.

Recycled Woolen Pillow Covers

Instead of throwing away old woolen clothes you can easily use them to make comfy cushion covers. These woolen covers look absolutely delectable in winters, and will make you want to take a long nap. All you need to do is to measure out the dimensions of the cushion you are creating the covers for, and cut one inch larger pieces from the old sweaters you are planning to recycle. You have to stitch the right sides of the wool all together along the edges while leaving the bottom part open. The right side of the cushion cover should be turned out and the pillow inserted before you stitch the bottom close. Buy some cute woolen dollies and artificial flowers and sew them on to the woolen cushion covers for an extra charming effect.

Decorative Plate Wall Art

Raid antique shops and thrift stores for vintage looking plates of various sizes. They can be used to make really amazing wall art. Buy letter stencils and print words on the dinner plates, or decal letters on the plates. The best way to do wall dinner plate art is to print words on the plates that confirm to a line like ‘I love my house’ or ‘these are a few of our favorite things’. Now arrange these plates on plate hooks on high contrast walls for a breathtaking effect.

If you are using white dinner plates then a charcoal or a crimson accent wall would look good.

Mini Indoor garden

If you want to bring in a whiff of greenery and vitality in your home then there is nothing better than a sweet mini indoor garden. A bottle indoor mini garden is one of the easiest projects that you will do and the results are stunning. Use all types of bottles, from wine bottles to extra big whiskey containers and cut open the bottoms. Put the bottle mouths on glass containers filled with water, and then half stuff the bottles with soil. Plant anything from geraniums to nine-o-clocks to ferns in these bottles, and they will grow well. This will become a self watering organically holistic ecosystem and also the conversation point of your home.
