In case you think that you have exhausted your budget in shopping for clothes and accessories, don’t worry, here are some super affordable tips to glam up your home this festive season.

Decorate your Front door

fall

The front door is the focal point of your home and yet most people neglect to feel its importance. Decorating your front door with garlands of yellow and red flowers/ ribbons and streamers/ branches of holly (or whatever else the occasion demands) is a great way to change the appearance of how your home looks. Your front door decoration can be traditional/ ornate/ contemporary, depending upon the look you want to give your home.

Change the Wall Decor

Change your wall decor this festive season and replace the usual display with framed street art that symbolizes the season of lights and joy ahead. You can choose a particular theme like red and gold or black and gold to work on. If you are a monochrome fan then a simple black and white framed art theme will also work wonders for your home. This idea has a lot of scope for adaption and you can use it in your entry hall or living room or even passage if you want.

Light up your home

lights

Nothing spells “festive”, “joy” or “cheer” better than lights. You should invest in a lot of traditional mud diyas/ lamps (they come quite cheap) and arrange them artistically at various corners of your homes. These mud lamps look much better than the newly fangled electric lights and they do a lot to spruce up the appearance of your home. Get creative and place mud lamps on large plates of water after adding red rose petals to the water. This makes up a dazzling center piece for your drawing room too.

Invest in handicraft

Not all types of handicraft are expensive and there are some super affordable traditional items available at street shops for a very low price. Figurines made of clay/mud/straw/ coconut shells etc., can look very artistic if they are creatively placed at various corners of the home. Place a large decorative clay pitcher in the center of your dining table and ask guests to pour lemonade/ sherbet from it as they come in for a party.

Say it with lights and mirrors

Hanging up 3-4 mirrors on a wall and decorating them with lights will dramatically change the appearance of the wall. Mirrors especially antique designed ones, have a very glamorous feel to them. You can get them for an affordable price if you hunt around in flea shops. Hang a few strands of white lights around those mirrors and watch the whole space give out a dazzling festive glow.
